When I arrived here back in May, everything was very different. The cottage was still being built, furniture was being ordered and all sorts of papering and painting was going on. Also, new sisters were arriving daily. Now it's July and Summer is more than half gone but we have settled into a routine of sorts. The cottage is now complete and we have a wonderful kitchen with all the most modern conveniences, a parlor, bedroom and a garden. There is also an extra room that sits on Andrea's' desk. We call this room the "craft" room and we can sew, spin, read a book, or just enjoy our afternoon tea.
Today started off like any other day but I knew there would be a very special surprise and it was all I could do to hide my own excitement. We all went about our daily chores and, finally, it was tea time. Just as Hitty Claudia was serving tea, I entered with two little girls following me. Everyone began talking at once and their excitement was quite tangible. They got louder and louder which scared our new little sister's so badly they hid behind me and refused to tell their names.
I knew they were tired from their trip and would likely be more sociable after a nap so, without further ado, I tucked them in bed and within a few minutes they were sleeping soundly. Excitement is very tiring so I settled in my favorite chair to ponder the events of the day and wonder what the morrow will bring.
